The Coalbrookdale mug design is inspired by the magnificent collection of archive designs, housed at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum, Shropshire, England. Within these collections are numerous design books featuring cast iron patterns for use in a huge variety of architectural features over a two hundred year period.
Reminiscent of the Victorian period, much of the design inspiration utilises natural form. This particular design features a fern leaf which was applied to garden furniture pieces for both domestic and commercial use. Hand Decorated in England, this fine bone china mug embraces the wonderful history and ingenuity associated with Coalbrookdale, the home of AGA, with a beautiful product for the home.
These bone china mugs are decorated in Stoke on Trent with lithographs made using silk screens, each colour of the pattern requires a separate screen. Once applied to paper and a colour coat added, the pattern is applied to the mug by hand and fired at 750-800°F.
Presented in a fabulous gift box making this beautiful mug an ideal gift.
